AC compressor failure sends metal debris through the entire system. For Shoreline drivers on Aurora Avenue and the SR-522 interchange, Tom's B&M Auto replaces the compressor as part of a complete system flush — condenser, receiver/drier, and expansion valve addressed at the same time. A compressor-only replacement without flushing the system contaminates the new unit within weeks.
System inspection before disassembly: high/low side pressure readings, compressor clutch function, and refrigerant type identification (R-134a or R-1234yf). System evacuated and refrigerant recovered.
New OEM-spec compressor installed. System flushed to remove metal debris from failed compressor. Receiver/drier and expansion valve replaced. System evacuated to specified vacuum before recharging.
System recharged to manufacturer-specified refrigerant weight by mass. Vent temperature and high/low side pressure verified at operating temperature before return.

A compressor that seizes internally sends fine metal shavings through the condenser, drier, and expansion valve. A flush that doesn't remove all debris causes the new compressor to fail within weeks from contamination. We flush the system completely and replace the drier — which is a moisture-absorbing filter that must be replaced when the system is opened.
R-1234yf refrigerant requires specific handling equipment that costs significantly more than R-134a equipment. Shops that don't have it can't legally recover R-1234yf — they either refuse the job or vent it illegally. We have certified R-1234yf equipment and handle both refrigerant types correctly.
Metal debris removed. Drier and expansion valve replaced with compressor.
Not rebuilt units. Correct oil type pre-filled for your refrigerant.
Proper equipment for all refrigerant types. No illegal venting.
AC compressor replacement includes system inspection, refrigerant recovery, complete system flush, new OEM-spec compressor installation, receiver/drier replacement, expansion valve replacement, system evacuation, and refrigerant recharge to manufacturer-specified weight.
