Subaru head gasket failure on EJ engines is predictable and preventable — with the right coolant. The original composite head gaskets failed partly due to coolant corrosion on aluminum heads. Subaru Super Coolant contains the specific corrosion inhibitors these engines require. Every Subaru cooling service we perform uses it.
Subaru Lineartronic CVT transmissions require Subaru ATF HP — not a universal CVT fluid. The CVT steel push belt requires a specific friction coefficient that universal fluids don't provide. CVT replacement costs $4,000-$6,000; a $120 fluid service prevents it.
